Sure your kid could be next

Donald Trump and the NRA have offered us a sure-fire solution to mass murder in our school. Rather than really considering ways to limit arms in the hands of killers, the Glorious Leader and the satrap in the governor´s mansion suggest that teachers be armed to the teeth and ready to defend children in schools. Can you imagine the little school-house on the prairie in your town with little Miss Jones  or the coach mounting an assault weapon anchored to the desk while they direct the class? Well, maybe! After all the NRA has offered to teach teachers how to ride gun on the besieged-to-be school. There! The problem is solved without the need for any debate or a possible rewriting of the law.  All things change so that nothing changes or threatens the special interests do dear to real patriots. God bless America.

Alabaster City so dimmed by Human Tears

President Trump´s sympathy for the dead young people in Florida today was most moving. The care and compassion he showed while waiving at the TV cameras was a reflection of his deep concern for the victims of the murderous act. It will be remembered in history as will his words for all of us watching him. The doctors are doing a great job and everybody is making an amazing recovery. Then he went on to have his picture took with the local police  who he reported were doing a wonderful job. Parkland, with Mr. Trump up front  was a  consoling symbol for all of us in our alabaster city undimmed by human tears.

God bless America and other stuff

Mr. Trump´s remarks after the vicious and brutish murder of young adults by Nicolás Cruz in Parkland, Florida are again evidence of the ethical mediocrity in residence in the White House. He insinuates that Mr. Cruz and others like him are mad.  Of course they are an exception.  The president defends the patriotic fervor of the devotion to a cause so dear to the hearts of those who see an  armed mob of skunk hunters as a first line of national defense. I wonder what the survivors in towns like Parkland would vote in a referendum on gun control? Really, Donald, fleeing from the question into absurdities does you no favor.

A success story

Everybody is quick to point out Donald Trump´s failures and follies. Come in! Let´s poin out his successes too. For example, the administration pointed out the need for a weaker dollar. Those of us living abroad can confirm that the objective has been reached. The dollar has gone from 1,10 per euro to 1,25 per euro. Good work Don! That will keep Americans home and off the cheap flights. See folks, he´s man of his word.

My rights

My rights are not a basis to do what I want, when and where I want to. As an American who did not vote for Donald Trump, I agree with him that the United States should be protected against becoming a halfway house for foreigners from places where they do not  want to live. In the XXI century we have no open frontier out west. Then people with little or no learned skills could head west. Now they head for the inner cities.  We can not absorb millions of people who are not productive, people who demand rights in exchange for little more than their presence in this or another congressional district!  Our southern border is open to all. We must set up serious controls. If a person is talented, if he or she brings skills and knowledge the nation needs, welcome them. If not, if their only qualification is being from outside Europe or of something that makes them part of a minority of some kind, I support Donald Trump and reject the young Mr. Kennedy and the old guard democrats who used him to sing their tired song.
