It is clear that the right wing Republicans under the banner of the Trumpettes are leading the greatest charge against social benefits for the aged since Ronald Reagan put federal taxes on social security income. AARP is leading a counterattack which will win kind words from the Paul Ryans and the Ron Pauls of congress and their party followers. Do these men represent us? Of courser not! All we have to do is follow there proposals for doing away with unsustainable Obamacare to understand where their friends hide in the slogans for a a rebuilt America. At times, my friends, I feel as if I were a member of the 30,000,000+ “breathing dead” who stand by as a failed congress debates our very right to live! in minimum quality! Our passivity is our real enemy and the strength behind Paul´s and Ryan´s hateful aggression. As a former Republican, I walk away from what it was. Of course with the Democrats in shambles, there is no where to go. AARP alone can do little. Only armed with postcards and letters can we wake up people in congress to the fact that we are no longer the passive, breathing dead. We are alive. And, more than 30,000,000 strong, we are standing and we will vote them out of office. Donald Trump could never survive a press conference where professional journalists asked questions and demanded clarifications to back up the wild charges he gets by with via his tweets. Can you imagine the absurd-reality show of him trying to convince reasonable people that Mr. Obama was spying on him with the help of the FBI and the British secret service? The people´s choice hides in his tweets. He goes public, but not really since no questions are asked. The tweets are food from heaven for his loyalists. For the rest of us they are examples of Trump´s contorted view of the world around him. Since Mr. Trump would be unable to dominate open sessions with reporters from many fields of the media, he simply keeps himself available only where his ranting and ramblings are not challenged. It will not get better with time.
Good work, Donald! The German chancellor gets home and the next day she and the Japanese premier agree to start work on a free trade agreement between Japan and Europe. You sure know how to make a point so that America´s abusers realize that a new day is at hand. The Europeans are also feeling out the Chinese for a deeper trade relationship. We really know how to win friends and influence people. I wonder when the president of Mexico will be in Berlin? The Canadians signed a sweeping trade agreement with the European Union last month. According to Mr. Trump´s tweet of last, his meeting with Mrs. Merkel was fraught with successes in spite of the enemy press reports in the US. Well, maybe it clears the air a little if I report that from Europe, The New York Times report was rather benign. In the Spanish, French, Portuguese, English and German press of March 17, those points of agreement and mutual support and esteem seem to have been few and far between. Of course the Chancellor´s years of experience and discipline allowed her to return home with the jewel she needed: US solid support for NATO against the ambitions of the Russian Empire´s Vladimir I.
