Seville´s socialist mayor and his vice-mayor are working to save Seville from the degradation and injury that excessive exploitation  for the satisfaction of mass tourism provokes.  Mayor Espada and Mr. Muñoz deserve our applause. At last local political leaders have taken a firm stand against the saturation of the loveliest parts of the city with cheap, noisy and visually offensives  hamburger joints,  bars and EAT HERE NOW greasy spoons.  Like Florence, Rome and Venice, Seville has said enough! Tourist dollars  can not be allowed to buy the city´s soul. The noble and socially conscious  shop owners and bar-keeps cry crocodile teas claiming that such moves to clear streets and plazas of their occupational-like   presence will be negative for employment.  Pure nonsense! The mayor has wisely decided to save Seville so that tourists will  want to return to appreciate her again and to insure that the lovely city whose streets we stroll will be here tomorrow for our children.

So what´s all the fuss all  about, anyway? Hasn´t the worst enemy  of the American people learned in all these  years since Bi-o and Monica  that to tell the truth, when you are high up on the political  totem polls were faces are caved in solid knotty pine,  is just another way of telling the tale?  Our leaders are very busy men and women. Sometimes they forget incidentals like  a meeting  with  the ambassador of a friendly nation  who , by the way, is known to be Vladmir I´s  spy-master in the USA. Please! I hope the press and TV have more interesting news than at high levels facts are fiction and fiction is facts. Mr. Trump has told you that again and again in tweets and jamborees.Are you  slow learners or just mean people? Why  are you against making America great again?  You are bad guys!

We should all applaud the firm stand taken by Russia, China and Iran in the Security Council against the scoundrel plan  designed to  denounce the Syrian government´s use of chemical weapons against its own people in the horror of the civil war. Their vote reminds us all that no popular actions against an established government are to be tolerated be they in Lhasa, Gorki, Aleppo, or Gaza.  Our very troubled world can sleep peacefully tonight knowing that the Security Council again has gone on record to defend human rights and to offer examples of states like Syria that take those rights as their core obligation.

In Spain, today, the press is positive regarding the visit of Secretaries Kelly and Tillerson to Mexico. Their reception with the President of Mexico, after their work sessions with their Mexican counterparts, seems to confirm the positive impression they left  on official Mexican circles.

Here it is reported that the representatives of the two countries agreed on a general working plan that would contribute to securing the real control of our borders while respecting the human rights of masses of people who have no home to return to down south and which respects Mexico´s capacity to absorb thousand upon thousands of men, women and children from many counties. I hope we are thinking about  a rapid process of nationalization that officially seals the fact that millions of Hispanos are fully at home among us.

While Mr. Tillerson and Mr. Kelly were expertly carrying out their delicate diplomatic work abroad, Mr. Trump again proved that he seems more intelligent with his mouth shut. Wake  up Republicans! Follow Senators Graham, Gressey, and McCain.

On February 19, the Spanish press is again fixated on the Trump show.

Mr. Trump has discovered a way to avoid being bogged down with the pittle and sandbox fights in the Senate. He governs the nation by presidential decree! Why do we need a Senate?

If our Leader reads, I would recommend that he at least buy, to leave visible on his desk for others to see, The Fierce Reality of Now. I am sure that the information found there would make it easier to support Mr. Pence´s postures and attitudes as he showed them in Munich.

The leader is being contaminated by the subtle lying of the US media.  All of us, including the Swedish government, were at a loss about the supposed problems with immigrants. The Swedes think he was referring to a traffic incident in Lapland.  The Swedish prime minister suggested that Trump was smoking something real bad down there under the Florida sun.  Maybe, just maybe, Trump´s liberty with the truth comes from his belief that if he says it, it is probably true. Hey, that sounds like his charges against CNN.

In Munich yesterday the German chancellor and the French president among others clearly indicated that the serious doubts in the reliability, the will and the  determination  of the Trump regime to march with Europe in issues of mutual defense is a serious thorn. Echoing the concerns across Europe, she let it be clearly understood that the NATO/EC prefers to count on th USA as an ally, but in the era of mistrust fomented again and again from Washington , other measures made-in- Europe will have to be analysed to put a real shield in place against we know whom.  Mr. Pence made a  positive impression in Munich but then the leader at his campaign rally in Florida shot him out of the saddle.

AARP is leading the battle to win support in Congress (among Republicans, mainly) to block Trump´s efforts to murder Obamacare.  On the campaign trail he casually remarked that the rejection of Obamacare would be partial and that within just a few days a full new  and far better plan would be in place. From up there in the Trump Tower in the Land of Trump did he realize that there was something called the democratic process down there in the streets of Senate and House-land?
