Although I am not an admirer of President Trump at all, I insist that a line be drawn between him and his wife and child. Recently the director of one of New York´s great museums, to manifest her fury against Mr Trump, committed a gross insult to us all by offering a golden WC as a decorative piece at the White House. The First lady has proven that she is a lady. The director of the museum proved herself far, far and very far less. Why is she still at her desk? Gratuitous insults say less about the author than they do about the victim.

The alliance of Republicans in congress and the Trump camp has confirmed the staunch support of great leaders such as Paul Ryan, Mario Rubio, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul for financial order in the American house. It is totally untrue that the Republican Party has abandoned fiscal conservatism. Although the billions of dollars in deficits the new tax bill will produce may frighten some, these Republican stalwarts and political visionaries understand that putting money back in the hands of the people, well, some of them, is well worth the lessening of federal support for health, education and all other social services. With the return of money to the folks, they can well afford to take out insurance, pay higher educational costs and drop change into the tin cans of people begging at the door to the grocery stores. Retired people, had they been well represented, might have fought to have Reagan´s income tax revoked. I am sure that the leaders of Republicanism light would have added that to the Christmas basket too.
Listening to a weeping Mr. Pense (Mike to his friends) wax on about the virtues of our glorious leader sounded as if his words had been taken right out of Kim Jung un´s manual on just how to glorify a national father figure in public. There was Mr. McConnell (Mitch to his pals and on TV) and Mr. Ryan smiling and whispering Praise the Lord. John McCain was lucky. He was sick in bed at home! Democrats, wake up! Let us never forget that federal spending what we do not have is now a Republican political venue. So what if social progress in health care, education, child care and the issues related to the well-being of people in particular are seen as a foreign evil.
Like many thousands of Americans, I too am deeply worried with Mr. Trump´s decision of December 7 to move the United States embassy to Jerusalem. While the United Nations, the EU, the Vatican, Japan, and so many other nations stand firm in their demand for negotiation for a two state division of Palestine, the United States´action of today will only further convince Israel that a slow but steady absorption of the region will eventually bring about the Zionist dream of an Israel from the Mediterranean to the Jordan. Mr. Trump in the same breath states that he favors a two state solution even when he knows that Isreal will never abandon the total annexation of all of Jerusalem and as much of Palestine as possible. The policy of the Israeli government has been and is to stand firm, give up nothing and slowly to move toward the realization of a state of Biblical proportions. The Isrealis´have been holding the Palestinians face down in the gutter with their boot on their neck. An explosion is inevitable. That Mr. Trump is not in our best interests. The Israeli prime minister hated Mr. Obama because he repeatedly stated by act and word that the United States was nobody´s puppet and that the destruction of the Palestinian people´s right to nationhood was and will always be a travesty. Isreal now finds her claim to occupied territory supported by the United States. Take note, Donald Trump. Any attack on US interests, territory or persons will be, in great part, the result of your ludicrous and totally unnecessary action of today.
On November 9, Carmen Forcadell, the Speaker of the Catalonian Parliament, has been released under 150,000 euros bond, after admitting before the Spanish Supreme Court that the promoters of the unilateral declaration of independence knew that it was illegal under standing Spanish and Catalonian law. The other members of the parliament´s board agreed with her. In all cases, they were released under bond or without bond.
In the case of the Jordi´s, they refused to accept the legitimacy of the Spanish courts and, refusing to defend their actions, they ended up sentencing themselves.
Today´s court actions show that Amnesty International´s claim that there are no political prisoners in Spain is true. In the face of the illegal and hoax referendum the Ministry of Justice had to take the perpetrators of sedition had to court. The persons prosecuted will still have their day in court but nobody can claim that they are political prisoners when Ms. Fordecall has admitted that the referendum/election was illegal. On December 21, there will be a real election of a new parliament in Catalonia. The independentistas may win a majority. Then there will have to be a future for all through the legal framework of the Spanish nation. After Ms. Forcadell´s statements of today, Mr. Puigdemont looks more the fool than ever.
